UPRISE! Call for Presentations
The Leather Solidarity Collective (LSC) is currently accepting Presenter/Presentation Submissions for our 18 individual 90-minute educational sessions on Friday, July 9, 2021 and Saturday, July 10, 2021. See the Conference Schedule for additional details.
UPRISE! 2021 is dedicated to the vision of celebrating People of Color in Leather and Kink, and we look forward to highlighting Presenters of Color within the Lifestyle Community. LSC is interested in receiving a variety of practical/theory topics that fall within our three (3) educational session tracks. We will select nine (9) presentations for each track.

IMPORTANT NOTE | Presentations that have already been featured at multiple high-visibility conferences will not be considered priority material. LSC is eager to see fresh topics, content, as well as voices!
Presenters can submit up to two (2) presentation proposals through our Call for Presentation Submission Form no later than Wednesday, March 31, 2021 11:59 pm ET. Potential and/or selected presenters may be subject to a 10-minute presentation audition.

Presenter Qualifications
The Leather Solidarity Collective encourages participants from all backgrounds to apply and is committed to highlighting a variety of presenters from either side of the slash including:

New Presenters | To be considered a “New Presenter” presenters must have a minimum of two years experience in the Lifestyle but NOT presented at more than 1 national Lifestyle Conference. Local and regional presentation experience is welcome!

Upcoming or seasoned/experienced BIPOC

Non-BIPOC presenters who have an established history of ally-ship/advocacy

Presenter Availability | Presenters should be available on BOTH dates. We cannot guarantee that we can accommodate specific scheduling requests. Limited availability may impact the likelihood of acceptance.
Presenter Technology Requirements | All sessions will be conducted via Zoom, so presentation materials, formats, and audio/visual needs must account for the virtual format. Presenters will be required to have a reliable internet connection at a private location and use a dependable device that will allow you to support your presentation needs. UPRISE! is not able to provide presenters with the required technology to conduct their sessions.

Q: When will I hear whether my proposal is selected?
A: We will send out notifications of selection by mid-April. Note | You may see speaker announcements on our website and social media. Those announcements do NOT imply you have not been selected.
Q: How good are my odds of acceptance?
A: The competitiveness of submission will be determined by the number of presenters/presentations submitted. If we are not able to accommodate your session at UPRISE! 2021, we may reach out to you at a later date for our year-round educational programming options.
Q: What are the benefits of presenting at UPRISE! 2021?
A: You mean besides supporting the Lifestyle you love? Each volunteer speaker will receive one (1) complimentary registration for UPRISE! 2021. We do not pay any speaker for presentations.
Q: Can I submit my presentation for more than one track?
A: Presentations may only fall under one track. Please select the track that best categorizes your presentation. If you submit multiple proposals, you may submit different proposals under different tracks.
