Additionally, each volunteer will receive one (1) free admission to Uprise! 2021, and one (1) Uprise! Pin as a thank you for your contribution!

 

IMPORTANT NOTE | Volunteers should be avalible for 2 hour segments; please fill out the form for the times you are avalible. 

 

Volunteers will be notified of their schedule in June 2021.

 

Volunteer Technology Requirements | All sessions will be conducted via Zoom. Volunteers will be required to have a reliable internet connection at a private location and use a dependable device that will allow you to support your role.  UPRISE! is not able to provide volunteers with the required technology to be at their times slots.

Volunteer Positions

 

Room Moderator

The role of a Room Moderator includes: 

  1. Understanding, reading out, and enforcing the rules and guidelines of the event.
  2. Having 90 minutes dedicated to volunteering for this role during the weekend of this event, plus an extra 10 mins to arrive in preparation for your allocated time slot. 

  3. Access to Zoom and a Webcam;

  4. Being able to welcome everyone, introduce the presenter(s) and close the meeting on time.    

  5. Being attentive to the conversations taking place and reading out questions when applicable;

  6. A general understanding of how Zoom moderating works (i.e. admitting from a waiting room, removing individuals if necessary, etc);

  7. Communicating effectively within a team.

 

Note-Taker

The role of a Note-Taker includes:

  1. Understanding the rules of the event space;

  2. 90 minutes dedicated to volunteering for this role during the weekend of this event;

  3. Having access to Zoom and a webcam;

  4. Being attentive to the conversation(s) and/or presentations taking place;

  5. The ability to follow a basic nested bullet point format while taking notes (examples will be provided prior to the event);

  6. The ability to meet prior to the event to address any training, questions, and/or clarifications;

  7. The ability to provide samples of note-taking prior to the event (we will work together on this);

  8. The ability to turn in your notes within 48-72 hours after the presentation; and

  9. Communicating effectively within a team.

 

Concierge Desk

The role of a Concierge Desk attendant includes:

  1. Understanding the rules of the event space;

  2. 90 minutes dedicated to volunteering for this role during the weekend of this event;

  3. Having access to Zoom and a webcam;

  4. Being attentive to the conversation(s);

  5. Maintaining a space to help anyone who needs assistance;

  6. The ability to meet prior to the event to address any training, questions, and/or clarifications;

  7. Communicating effectively within a team.
